About Clinical Research
Clinical trials offer patients the opportunity to volunteer to test new medicines and equipment undergoing the FDA’s extensive approval process. Though patients must consider risks associated with research, participating in a clinical trial often provides patients with the chance to be among the first to benefit from a promising new approach. Research is conducted in compliance with FDA regulations and under the approval of the Sutter Health Central Area Institutional Review Committee (IRC), which offers practicing physicians the opportunity to pursue research interests while caring for patients.Back to top.
