Brain Injury Program
We are a CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited brain injury specialty program – accredited for adolescents and adults. We have a dedicated brain injury unit specifically designed to meet the needs of a person with a brain injury.
Brain Injury Rehabilitation Requires Specialty Expertise and a Healing Environment
Why are Brain Injury Patients Unique?
Your brain is extremely complex, and when damaged as a result of illness or injury can interfere with your ability to think and move, and behavioral changes that affect your emotions and personality. Our team uses current, proven treatment methods to get the best outcomes with these complicated patients.
Our Brain Injury Patients
Patients admitted to the brain injury program have traumatic injuries caused by accidents, falls, or blows to the head. Patients with non-traumatic injuries are also admitted, such as individuals who have had profuse bleeding or a loss of oxygen in the brain.
Our Brain Injury Team
Many of our team members are trained Certified Brain Injury Specialists. Our dedicated brain injury team consists of the rehabilitation physician, nursing, neuropsychologist, physical, occupational, speech and recreation therapists, social worker and case manager – all of whom have specialized training in brain injury rehabilitation.
Our Specialized Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program
In addition to our experienced rehabilitation team, we have the region’s only dedicated unit designed to meet the special physical and behavioral needs of patients who have sustained brain injuries. The self-contained unit allows for freedom of movement within a safe environment, including smaller, quiet therapy and dining areas where patients can work with fewer distractions. Several of our rooms have video monitoring capabilities to allow for supervision to ensure safety without compromising patient privacy. We can offer specialized one-on-one coaching as needed to ensure safety. All of these qualities allow our teams to create individualized treatment programs for each patient on the unit, capitalizing on the patient’s strengths and offering a safe environment for recovery.
Why Choose Us?
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) awarded us with a three-year accreditation for our Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program. In addition, we are the only CARF accredited brain injury program in the region for adults and adolescents.
Patients discharged from our Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program demonstrate better outcomes than brain injury patients in the region and throughout the country. Find out more about our outcomes.
