"If a disease were killing our children at the rate unintentional injuries are, the public would be outraged and demand that it would be stopped."

    C. Everett Koop M.D., Sc. D.
    Chairman of the
    National SAFE KIDS Campaign

Welcome to the Safe Kids Placer County, a coalition of the Safe Kids Worldwide. A global network of organizations whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury, Safe Kids Worldwide is the first and only international nonprofit organization dedicated solely to preventing unintentional childhood injury. More than 450 coalitions in 16 countries bring together health and safety experts, educators, corporations, foundations, governments and volunteers to educate and protect families.

Safe Kids Placer County is part of the California Safe Kids network and was first established in 1991 by concerned citizens and members of local organizations committed to preventing childhood injuries. Since its inception, thousands of families have been touched, hundreds of car seats have been inspected, hundreds of bicycle helmets have been distributed, thousands of children have learned about safety and an untold number of unintentional injuries have been prevented. Through education and the support of new legislation, Safe Kids has proven to be effective in reducing preventable injuries to children.

Join this successful program and help make Placer County a safer place to grow up!
